Student Services
At Calvary Christian College we are committed to equipping and empowering our students to be emotionally, physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually resilient in preparation for the real world.
Our Student Services team supports students’ social and emotional welfare by equipping students and their families with effective strategies, recommendations and tools.
Our team is made up of caring teachers, a Student Support Counsellor, Chaplains and Defence School Mentor working together across the Primary and Secondary College.
We believe that behaviour is a concept that is taught just like any other subject. Our students learn the importance of respecting themselves and others, being safe and the enjoyment that comes through positive contributions to learning.
This is achieved through various programs such as Assembly and Chapel, classroom devotions, lunchtime activities and the Responsible Thinking Process.
All Australian schools are safe, supportive and respectful teaching and learning communities that promote student well-being.

Head of Student Services
The Head of Student Services (HOSS) guides the delivery of age appropriate pastoral care and behaviour education through the College’s Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC). The HOSS leads the Pastoral Care Team and the development and implementation of pastoral programs that prepare students for success at the College and beyond.
Pastoral Care Team
In line with the National Safe Schools Framework and supported by our strong Christian foundation, the College is committed to providing all students with a supported and connected school culture to help them become the best they can be.
Every Calvary team member is part of our Pastoral Care network, with classroom/PC teachers being the first to connect with your child on a daily basis.
Student Support Counsellor
The role of the Student Support Counsellor at Calvary is vital in responding to some of the concerning issues our students are faced with each and every day. Children may face challenges as the result of transitions, difficulty with academic progress, struggles with relationships and situations at home and with their family life may also present as a concern for them. Our Student Support Counsellor is dedicated to personally meeting with students who have presented with heightened concerns so that we may work with families to develop a plan of support and link them to external services where required.
Chaplaincy Team
The College Chaplaincy Team are committed to supporting your child emotionally, socially and spiritually. The team facilitates a range of activities and programs and are available to offer general support to all students.
Our Chaplaincy Team are committed to providing opportunities for all of our students to connect with the message of Christ and to experience the loving nature of God. Our Chapel services are a great way for students to hear the word of God and worship together.
The College acknowledges the assistance of the Australian Government Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) under the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program (NSCSWP) in funding our Chaplaincy Team.
Defence School Mentor
The College runs a Defence School Mentor Program designed specifically to support the children of mobile defence families. It involves on-site, direct and flexible assistance to students, parents, teachers and other support services.
Cultural Liaison Officer
Our Cultural Liaison Officer provides specialised, on-site support to meet the needs of culturally diverse students and their families within the College community. The Cultural Liaison Officer supports the College in establishing and maintaining a culturally appropriate educational environment for all students.
